In the Field at Waipā
Made on The Garden Isle

Kaua'i, Hawai'i

As the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands, time has allowed mother nature to create one of her most impressive works of art, with the wind, rain, and sea as her mediums. This island feels both ancient and yet almost impossibly alive. You can read the poetry of the ages across the vibrant layers of exposed rock and red soil in Waimea Canyon, along the peaks and valleys of the Nā Pali Coast, and within the earth itself, transformed over time from volcanic rock to rich, fertile soil.

On Mount Waiʻaleʻale, one of the wettest spots on Earth, rain feeds the waterfalls, the forests, the kalo fields, and our community… everything here exists in constant relationship with water, growth, and renewal.

While small, the vast majority of Kaua‘i’s interior remains untouched. You can trace the edges of the island by land in just a few short hours, but you’ll never truly circle it. The road begins and ends at either side of the Nā Pali Coast—but where the road stops, the land rises into cliffs, valleys, and a coastline so rugged it has never been paved.

This is the place we call home, and where every Leahlani formula is made.

Crafting skincare on a small, remote island isn’t always easy. Nearly everything must be thoughtfully sourced and shipped across the vast Pacific Ocean. Island time moves differently here, because nature sets the pace. But that’s also what makes it so meaningful. Because here, we’re not removed from the ingredients or the process—we’re immersed in it.

Giving Back

Giving back to both the land and our island community here is a core tenet of Leahlani Skincare, and we're honored and proud to support both through our work with the Waipā Foundation — a nonprofit here on Kaua'is north shore dedicated to caring for the land through traditional farming, education, and restoration.

The Leahlani team, alongside our founder Leah, had the honor of joining one of Waipā’s recent community volunteer workdays. The team spent the day working in Halulu loko iʻa (fishpond), clearing our invasive plant species to protect and beautify the banks of Halulu. The day's work was a meaningful reminder that mālama ʻāina (to care for the land) begins with a deep respect for that which sustains us, and the transformation we witnessed was a testament to the power of community.

Surrounded by the velvety texture of lush abundance, the scent of tropical blooms, the sound of summer rainstorms and the crashing winter swell, we’re reminded every day that our actions are interconnected with the rhythms of nature, and that something as simple as skincare can be more than functional.

We’re proud to create each product right here on Kaua‘i — intentionally, in small batches, with deep respect for the land that inspires it all.

Mahalo for being part of our world.

Keep Exploring
In Hawaii, we call the time spent causally chatting with dear friends Talk Story. Sharing what’s new and being there for the things that matter most. We invite you to join the Leahlani community as we explore skincare and much more.
